PASUC-Platform for Innovating SUCs for Industry 4.0 (PISI)

The Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) launched the Platform for Innovating SUCs for Industry 4.0 (PISI) in partnership with the USAID-Science, Technology, Research and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) Program, Philippine Development Foundation (PhilDev), and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) last February 12. 2019 at the Makati Diamond Residences. The vision of PISI is to power up the intellectual capital of state universities and colleges (SUCs) towards a trajectory that allow their leaders, faculty and students to productively engage both local and global partners in the dynamic process of discovery, knowledge creation, user-informed product development, and innovation. In order to address gaps and issues in developing the Intellectual Capital in SUCs, PISI has four program pillars, namely 1) Innovation Diagnostics, 2) Intellectual Capital Development, 3) Inclusive Innovation Partnership and Collaboration, and 4) Inclusive Innovation Ecosystem.

At the launch, PASUC President and Batangas State University President, Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo was joined by over 100 of state universities and colleges as well as PASUC partners, Dr. Diosdado Banatao, Chairman, Philippine Development Foundation, Dr. Richard Abendan, Chief of Party, USAID-STRIDE Program, and Mr. Goh Siak Koon, General Manager, Singapore Polytechnic International. Also in attendance at the PISI launch was Dr. Rafaelita Aldaba, Undersecretary, Department of Trade and Industry and Mr. Denny Robertson, Acting Mission Director, USAID-Philippines.
